More filters and search options for collections, especially contests

There are a few smaller in scope suggestions I see here already, but what I am suggesting is a more comprehensive sort and search system for images in a collection like for models and other assets, enabling you to do things like:

1)sort by author, to look up someone you follow or like the style of, or search for yourself to check if your own stuff was added, and what exactly was added (very helpful when you forget which variation you submitted instead of having to click through a bunch of images and check collection status). A similar thing for sorting by models or tags would also be nice.
2)sort by newest, so that you do not have to scroll through a bunch of stuff you already viewed to pick out new additions as the collection randomly re-shuffles itself.

3)Other preference interest or resource based searches already found throughout the site for other things if possible, because I am sure someone somwhere sometime will find it usefull :p

Sorry if this already exists and please point me to it, but so far I have not been able to find it or anyone who knows about it when asked...
