Problem: The current notification system's behavior upon clicking a notification is highly disruptive and inefficient. Each click opens a new "layer" or view, leading to excessive layering that can cause the page to freeze or become unresponsive after multiple interactions. This "layering" is particularly detrimental to user experience, especially on mobile devices. Furthermore, the notification dropdown menu annoyingly remains open after a notification is clicked, requiring manual closure and hindering quick navigation.
Feature Request:
Optimize Notification Click Behavior: When a notification is clicked, instead of opening a new layer, the platform should ideally navigate directly to the relevant content (e.g., the specific comment, post, or update). If a layer system must be used, ensure previous layers automatically close when a new one is opened, preventing UI clutter and performance issues, especially on mobile.
Automatic Dropdown Closure: The notification dropdown menu should automatically close immediately after a user clicks on any notification within it, allowing for seamless continuation of Browse without manual intervention.
