Exploration-friendly ranking

Hi,

I finally took the leap and uploaded a couple hundred of the best generations from my own trial-and-error, to check for reactions.

What I noticed was the first minute or two I got a follower and some thumbsup and hearts, almost exclusively on images that didn't get held for confirming moderation.

After that, pretty much nothing.

I suspect what happens is, for a brief moment pics like these are visible to people ranking on Newest, and then everything is forever buried unless you have exposure by having it on a model resource or a well-promoted profile.

This is not great for giving good material a chance to take off.

I'm not necessarily saying my stuff is so great it should have skyrocketed, but the time pattern of reactions is very suspicious.

What I would like to suggest is for you to add ranking(s) which could give visibility unless images etc have been tried and found unengaging.

For instance, if you're tracking how many times an object has been loaded (lately?) you might try simply allowing ranking by reactions per exposure. Or you might e.g. do a Bayesian fit for the belief that an object will be liked along with the uncertainty in that belief, and fill the feed by drawing at random within that uncertainty span.

Options like that should still rank great pieces high, but include pieces that are simply not well examined yet for exposure. That should avoid the crushing silence for the majority due to winner-takes-all tendencies, and give chances to seen for newbies like me and people who don't have established social standing on Civitai.

Tuned right, I believe it should also let the feed stay highly engaging with a high percentage of great content. Maybe even more engaging, as it wouldn't as easily get overwhelmingly dominated by repeats from a few particular artists.

Consider it, would you?
