Hey, I wanted to mention this during office hours but Maxfield forgot to ping and I was late so there was no time :( so I'll put it here. I have some ideas for the discord and want to share them and see what you guys think:
Usually when I'm making models I am not doing a lot on the side. And I spend time on the discord chatting and occasionally helping people that throw questions into general. If there were others like me there could be some sort of community driven help desk. Those interested in helping could pick up a role and get access to a channel that has all the tickets listed (I am sure there is a bot that does ticket stuff) and have the ability to pick up one and help a person who is in need of assistance. Sometimes there are questions getting talked over in both general and the questions channel, so this could help with that.
Office hours is a great way to obtain knowledge about anything SD or AI related. But there are a lot of people with knowledge in the community that could host something similar. But these are usually not very specific sessions. For those wanting to acquire specific knowledge there could be community member hosted events/presentations where they get to talk about whatever topic they have knowledge in. These could then pick a time and a date and at that time get a channel to do it. It would be a great way for those to promote their content/articles with it and help out other people of the community. There could even be some small rewards like a cool name color on the website for X amount of time after you hosted one to further motivate people. Something to validate that they are qualified is required for that tho, so someone from the civit team would have to verify somehow that they are, probably by looking at their resources that they uploaded (models/articles/images).
Have some form of knowledge sharing event. This would be similar to the one above, but instead of having a dedicated host you would just announce the topic a few days in advance, and then have people meet in a voice call and just talk about that specific topic. These could be more advanced events that require a certain level of base knowledge to participate in to ensure that they don't have to go over the basic concept again every time someone joins.
These are the ideas I had. The only two downsides that I am seeing for these suggestions would be a) it doesn't work if nobody wants to participate and b) there would be more things to monitor for the discord mods.
