Checksum verification and deduplication of uploaded models

I have heard several creators on here express disappointment that the models they post get re-uploaded to the site by serial-re-uploaders, and while I myself have not yet experienced this, I think it would be a welcome addition to the site if the models that were uploaded had their checksum logged and checked for every model to avoid duplicate models being uploaded. this would additionally save the server space as many of these models are very large and hosting duplicates can become very costly.
