Expired badges still say you've received them even though you didn't

I clicked to the link to claim the birthday badge. A bouncy animated text told me I was awarded the badge, while an error notice at the bottom told me it was no longer available to claim. The former shouldn't be shown when the badge's redemption period has has expired.
